5030 Sports at a Glance

Who is 5030 Sports?

You may have known 5030 Sports as BYAA (Berthoud Youth Athletic Association). BYAA was formed in 2001, welcoming young athletes from the Berthoud community and surrounding areas into a competitive youth sports program. Over the years, there have been many board members, coaches, and parents who have given their time, talent, and commitment to serve youth from the surrounding area. We thank each and every individual who has made the organization what it is today.

In 2018, the newest board members of the organization pursued a significant change in order to expand the organization and to support the growing Northern Colorado region. This has included newly formed relationships with sponsors, updated technology to handle communication, registration, and efficiencies relative to practice/game facilities. 5030 Sports is facilitating a place where any athlete can come and compete at the highest levels.

5030 Sports Mission:

5030 Sports strives to develop young athletes through encouragement, respect, and competition. While 5030 Sports encourages parents, community, and local schools to be positively involved in our programs, our first priority is the moral and physical fitness of each athlete. At 5030 Sports, athletes are encouraged to take personal responsibility and ownership over their athletic development through self-advocacy with coaches, accountability among teammates, and respectful sportsmanship.

5030 Sports Objective:

5030 Sports places an emphasis on instruction, practice and relationships to develop each athlete so that when his or her body finally grows, the athlete is not only fundamentally sound and ready to compete at the highest level, but is also coachable. 5030 Sports strives to promote an environment that eliminates selfishness and focuses on doing what is best for the team. 5030 Sports will work with young athletes to promote a "we-first mentality" where our athletes understand the importance of the "sixth man," the importance of the player who works hard in practice and leads a team by example, and the importance of the positive support and readiness of each player on the bench.
